Q: Dave:

We know that eating fiery-foods can cool us off.  But are there any studies or research that show that eating chiles, etc., can make you warmer in the winter?

–Chuck Martin, Food Editor, Cincinnati Enquirer

A: Hello Chuck:

Chiles do increase blood circulation, which warms you up.  Not by being eaten, though—but rather by being rubbed on your skin!
