Dave:
Do you know of a remedy for taking away the "burn" after you cut up hot peppers?

Liz:

A study at the University of New Mexico suggested that rubbing your hands with vegetable oil is the best cure. Since dairy products work for the mouth, try them on your hands!

SuperSite visitor Leon adds: A good remedy for the burn that is associated with handling chili’s is common household bleach. Just douse the parts of your body that have been exposed to the juices of the peppers with bleach, then wash well with water. This will in most cases neutralize the burn in short fashion. It will seem to re-fire the burn and intinsify it at first but this is very short lived. You will be amazed at how  well it works.
