Q: Hi Dave,

I started my Sweet Delight Mixed peppers from seed and they are now in pots on my kitchen windowsill, supported by canes.  They are around a foot and a half tall with flowers starting.  I read a book saying to pinch back the growing tip at two feet, but my plants already have many growing tips, as they have started to branch off from the main stem with quite a lot of flowers.  What should I do?

Thank you,

Sheena

A: Hello Sheena:

Generally, you pinch back chile plants to encourage them to branch off and become bushy.  Under low light conditions they can become leggy and fall over.  It sounds like yours are already branching, so I see no need for you to pinch them back.
