We made salsa last night and put jalapeños in it. We cut up about 24 of them and took the seeds out. After almost 24 hours our hands are still burning. The skin feels like fire. We didn’t even eat any! We love them though. What should we do?

A: Hello Bryan and Lisa:
First, don’t touch your eyes or other sensitive body parts. Second, rub your hands all over with vegetable oil, then wash with dish detergent. You may have to repeat this process. Third, in the future, wear disposable gloves when you process chiles of any kind.–Dave
