Dear Dr. BBQ:

We are bottling our own bbq sauce. We are unable to keep up with demand. I was told to ask about a co-packer. Do you know, or can you recommend one that do small runs for start up business? Thank you,

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Congratulations on your success. The best thing to do is find a co-packer that’s near you if you’ll be taking the product. You can save a lot of money on freight and a lot of hassles if you’re label guy and your co-packer are near you. I can’t recommend one but you should start by looking in the phone book under “Food Manufacturers.” You might just be surprised. Also ask any local sauce guys or restaurants that sell their sauce for a suggestion. Also, the Fiery-Foods and Barbecue Industry Directory has a list of Co-Packers. Search here. Good luck,

Dr. BBQ
