I have just purchased your book and cooked the championship rib recipe. Wow!! Two racks of ribs at the Super Bowl party lasted less than five minutes. My question is, do you use the BBQ Guru on long cooks? Last, I met you at the Plant City Pig Jam. We were the amateur team with a couple of Big Green Eggs and came in fifth overall for the amateur teams. Thanks,

Congrats on the good finish. I came in 2nd in Plant City so I’d say the Big Green Eggs had a good day there. I don’t use the BBQ Guru. I have nothing against it and Fred and Bob are great guys. I just feel that with a little watching my Egg works just fine without it. Cooking BBQ is a participation event so I don’t mind looking at the temp gauge every few hours. Frankly, I don’t think I would ever be away from my cooker longer than that anyway.
